Faculty positions in Industrial Engineering, University of Chile

05The Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Chile, is seeking to fill multiple tenure track academic positions.

 We are seeking faculty in all areas of research cultivated by the department, which include Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Marketing and Operations Research/Operations Management.  The search considers candidates at any rank.  The department is committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty; in particular, female candidates or candidates from minority groups are encouraged to apply.

The Industrial Engineering Department is part of the School of Engineering at the University of Chile, the leading Engineering School in Chile, attracting the best undergraduate and graduate students in the region. In addition to a strong undergraduate program in Industrial Engineering, the department has very strong research oriented masters programs in OR/MS and in Economics, professional masters programs in Public Policy and Management, in Management and Business Strategy, and in Business Engineering.  The department has a doctoral program which attracts talented students from Latin America and beyond.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should have, or be on track to obtain, a Doctoral degree in a relevant field for the position being applied.  Candidates are expected to exhibit promise or evidence of outstanding research record and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at all levels.  A provable interest in applied research with real impact on industry or government policy is desirable.

DUTIES

Candidates are expected to establish a strong research agenda and to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level.  Regular teaching load is 2.5 semester courses per year.   Teaching in Spanish is desirable but not an immediate requirement.
