Dr. Escobar is an Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering at the Universidad de Chile, where he teaches Microeconomics and Game Theory. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford and his Mathematical Engineering degree from Universidad de Chile. His research focuses on game theory and mechanism design. His work explores how and why cooperative relationships can arise and how organizations can benefit the most from such interactions. He has also worked on mechanism design, including auction design and school choice. His work has been published in top economics journals, such as Econometrica, Journal of Economic Theory, and Theoretical Economics. His research has been supported with grants from Conicyt and Iniciativa Científica Milenio. He has been a referee for all the major journals in Economics and Operations Research. He has also advised private and public institutions and provided expert economic reports.
