Beaucheff 851, Of 615 Santiago, Chile

I´m an Industrial Engineer from the University of Chile and Ph.D on Information Engineering from the University of Tokyo. Since 2008 I worked as an assistant professor and on 2020 as associate professor at the University of Chile´s Industrial Engineering Department. My current work centers on applied research in Data Science (data mining). In this multidisciplinary field, my work covers a number of different subject areas, with my main areas of interest being text mining and higher-order semantics, social network analysis, and data mining to enhance healthcare systems.

All my research activities are mainly developed with the collaboration of Chilean companies and government organizations. Some of them are the biggest telecommunications companies, the biggest supermarket chains, the biggest banks, dig hospitals and clinics, the Superintendence of Banks, the National Consumer Service, the Chilean Ministry of Health, among many others.

In 2011, I created the  Research Center on Business Intelligence (CEINE in  Spanish), with the signature of a 5 years collaboration contract between Movistar S.A. (telecommunications company) and the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences from University of Chile.

I teach undergraduate, master and doctoral subjects since 2008 mainly in Business Process Management with IT and Data Science methods for industrial applications. I have supervised and co-cupervised more than 100 theses since 2008 in mostly in Industrial Engineering minor in Data Science and Sistems Engineering. I have more than 20 ISI indexed articles in top Q1 & Q2 journals in Data Scice (Artificial Intelligence field) more than 30 international conferences in SOCPUS indexed conferences. More than U$1.5 million rised on public & privated grants for applied reseach. I'm reviewer several TOP ISI indexed journals in the AI field and I'm editor/invited editor of a few of them.

Last but not least, I was honored with academic direction of the Master in Business Engineering (MBE) for five years (until jan 2020). Of course, all detail information can be obtained from my resume that can be downloaded below.
